About this Event
Travel Dates:
May 16 through May 30, 2023
This upper-level theology course will present an overview of the Holy Land from a variety of perspectives: geography, history, politics, archeology, and theology. The first week, consisting of instruction on the Irving campus, will introduce students to the key places, figures, and events in the land variously known as Canaan, Israel, Judah, Palestine, the Promised Land, and the Holy Land. The second and third weeks will feature a treatment of those same topics at the sites themselves.
In addition to the academic study of the land considered sacred to the three Abrahamic religions, the course will also have a pilgrimage component.
The program is open to rising UD juniors and seniors and recent UD alumni.
Application deadline is December 15, 2022
