Thomas More's Confutation of Tyndale's Answer contains his definitive response to several dozen illicit books, most of which were printed abroad and smuggled into England in defiance of the government's ban against nascent evangelical literature. The work builds upon his earlier Dialogue against Heresies, for which he had received special license to read prohibited books.
