Francis Beckwith Lecture

Please join us for a lecture by Dr. Francis J. Beckwith, Professor of Philosophy and Church-State Studies and Associate Director of the Graduate Program in Philosophy at Baylor University.

In his most recent book, Never Doubt Thomas: The Catholic Aquinas as Evangelical and Protestant, Beckwith focuses on the work of St. Thomas Aquinas and how his insights can help us better understand some of the disagreements between Catholics and Protestants.. Among the questions Beckwith addresses in his book is whether Christians, Muslims, and Jews worship the same God.  In this lecture, "Answering the 'Same God' Question With Theological Integrity," he will explain why he answers the question in the affirmative and how Aquinas’ thinking about the divine nature provides support for this answer.  He also will explain why a faithful Catholic ought to affirm this view and how he or she can do so with integrity and without courting religious relativism.

This lecture is sponsored by the Constantin College of Liberal Arts.
